Cartoons are getting worse and worse. I still believe the best cartoons are from the golden age of animation, far before Pixar and celebrity voicetracking. (why use Zach Braff when you can have the guy who voices Winnie the Pooh do EVERYTHING?!?!)
That said,
How come everyone and his mother can upload a video of their poop circling a toilet, but you can' t find the Disney short Johnnie Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet?
Does anyone remember this cartoon? About the two hats that fall in love in the window of a depaaaartment store? And Alice Bluebonnet gets bought and Johnnie Fedora goes out to reunite with her and [SPOILER!] then they both end up being put on horses? Fantastic. It was made in the forties, I think. I don't think there was dialogue, just a song that carried the 'toon, by the Andrews Sisters, who used to accompany Bing Crosby. This is one of my favorite cartoon shorts.
In fact, if I made a DVD-mixtape of Cartoon Shorts for my future son or daughter, Johnnie Fedora and Alice Bluebonnet would be mandatory.
Also, Small Fry (1939)! This is the one where the little fish wants to be like the big fish, and so he skips school and hangs out at the pool hall. I wanted to show a picture to spark y'all's memory, but unfortunately even the internets have no recollection of the Little Catfish that Smoked. (I actually think that's why I liked it.)
Also, Lambert the Sheepish Lion (1951). Which IS on You Tube!
Also, Ferdinand the Bull (1939)
Also, The Ugly Duckling (1939)
Best Cartoons. Ever.

cartoons now are about burping and slap-stick comedy. where are the morals?!?!?!?! We learned something from our cartoons, damnit!
Me? i was alll about Fraggle Rock.... 'dance your cares away/ worries for another day/ let the music play/ down at fraggle rock.' okay, not a cartoon, but they used 'big words' and sang alot. made me wish fraggles were real.
